Anthony Cuthbertson splits ways with Sass & Bide, calls for yet another design director
New phase, new sass.
It’s been a rocky ride for Sass & Bide since co-founders Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke left their prestigious label in 2014.
Their replacement creative director, Anthony Cuthbertson, who showcased his debut collection at London Fashion Week merely four months ago, has now also resigned.
With reasons still unknown, Cuthbertson left the role last month to join his partner back in the UK, and will be replaced by Witchery’s design manager, Therese Rawsthorne.
Despite the unexpected news, Vogue Australia’s Editor in Chief, Edwina McCann, thinks Rawsthorne could be the right woman for the brand.
“I think Therese is an excellent choice to take Sass & Bide to the next phase and her design aesthic is well suited to the brand,” she told Sydney Confidential.
Here’s hoping the brand will revive.
