Ballarat International Foto Biennale is hosting a fashion photography exhibit

Explore images from around the world.

David LaChapelle’s exhibition isn’t the only reason to make a trip to Ballarat next month. The Ballarat International Foto Biennale has launched its full program, including an exhibit dedicated to fashion photography.

Curated by Michelle Mountain, Reverie Revelry: Fashion through photography will bring together a curated selection of vintage photographs and contemporary art photography.

The lineup will showcase the playfulness, fantasy and subversion of fashion imagery and present reinterpretations from around the world.

Works from post-war photographer, Bruno Benini, will be exhibited alongside shots from Robyn Beeche, Noé Sendas and Matthew Linde.

Local artists Prue Stent and Honey Long will also showcase a selection of their pieces. You can expect to see works which combine photography, performance, installation and sculpture to comment on the duo’s relationship to femininity.

Reverie Revelry: Fashion through photography will open on August 19.
