funkis opens Melbourne store

Sending Swedish design from Sydney to Melbourne.

Lovers of Scandinavian design rejoice. Swedish-inspired design company funkis is expanding, crossing borders to an eager Melbourne audience.

Friday saw the Sydney retailer open a much-anticipated store at Melbourne’s The Strand, bringing a diverse mix of Swedish and Scandinavian design a lot closer to the FJ office. The flagship store will stock apparel, homewares, accessories and interiors from their in-house label and labels abroad. Marimekko, ATP and cult Swedish label Rodebjer will all hold place inside the expectedly minimal, clean lined walls.

Aside from the Scandinavian aesthetics, funkis’ core ethical practices and philosophies will transition into the new store, with every step of production focused on sustainable creation. Which is great. But mostly we’re excited to shop for clogs with unprecedented ease.
