Nixi Killick lands a $25,000 cash injection, deserves it

Show me the money.

Australian fashion designer Nixi Killick has already made some big achievements since launching her label, NXK, notably partnering with HP and IMB and dressing Lady Gaga for her ArtRAVE tour.

Her latest is receiving a $25,000 interest-free loan from RMIT’s new intitiative, the New Enterprise Investment Fund (NEIF)

NEIF, chaired by Eddie McGuire, is designed to be a resource for providing funding and employment for future RMIT generations and alumni. NXK is the first of a reported six enterprises to receive a cash injection from the $5 million fund.

Until now, Killick has been doing all her work from her mum’s sewing machine so the loan is bound to have some serious impact. “Imagine what I can do with some real equipment,” she told Ragtrader.

There are big things to come for this Aussie label.
