This fried chicken and sneaker collaboration combines the best of both worlds

Amazing.

It’s funny, because the story you’re about to read literally contains three of my top five favourite things.

Number one is fried chicken. Number two, sneakers and three, hip hop.

If I knew I only had one day left to live, my dying hours would be spent with all three of these things. And if you’re in the same boat as me, I suggest you keep reading.

Curated sneaker gallery Subtype has joined forces with Butter, Sydney’s best fried-chicken and sneaker store (what a combo), to release a limited edition collab tee and sock capsule, accompanied with a Fried Chicken menu. Woah.

To celebrate, the crew is putting on an exclusive warehouse event on June 3 to celebrate the launch of the limited release, Not For General Consumption. The first 80 people to buy a tee or pair of socks will score a spot on the list, where you can taste the designer chicken menu and drink complimentary Belvedere- and Hennessy- based slushies, Moët and Coronas, in an exclusive warehouse location. For more info, suss the Facebook event here. Sign me up.

For the month after the event, Butter Sydney will also be running a promotion at their restaurant in conjunction with the collaboration. When ‘Not For General Consumption’ is mentioned upon ordering, any fried chicken meal with slaw will receive a seaweed edamame upgrade and fries will be topped with Nutella and crushed hazelnuts. This is my literal idea of heaven.

The Subtype x Butter collaboration range will be available at Subtype in-store and online, as well as at the Butter website. T-shirts will be sold for $69.95 each and socks for $24.95 a pair.
