Friend of Audrey releases a collection for bridesmaids

Australian label Friend of Audrey is branching out and releasing an affordable ready-to-wear collection for bridesmaids.

The idea behind the WHITE line is to offer dresses for bridesmaids, or minimalist brides, that you’d actually want to wear again once the big day is over.

“I felt there was a gap in the market, where modern brides are struggling to find simple, contemporary dresses for their bridesmaids,” says brand manager Toni He. “These dresses can be reworn beyond the aisle, which I think is a wonderful way to recycle bridesmaids dresses, which will otherwise go to waste.”

As the name would suggest, the collection is made up entirely of white pieces. All are a similar shade of warm white, meaning each bridesmaid can opt for a different style and still look consistent. 

“The design team steered away from the traditional colours [and] silhouettes, and wanted to create something truly unique,” notes Toni. 

The WHITE collection includes simple, fitted silhouettes in quality crepe fabrics, with some stretch for comfort. The team has then placed attention on finer details like button-up backs, soft pleats, sheer organza trims and delicate crisscrossing straps. 

The brand’s name is a cheeky nod to Audrey Hepburn, whose universally-acknowledged, timeless style is reflected in every design the label produces. To translate this elegance into a modern context, Friend of Audrey focuses on versatility, clean lines and contemporary tailoring across all its pieces. WHITE is tailored for the label’s devotees, who appreciate simplicity and a minimal aesthetic.
