The future is now.

Louis Vuitton took over New York’s JFK Airport this week for a runway show at the TWA Flight Centre (Terminal 5).

In line with the presentation’s travel theme, LV’s Cruise 2020 collection was all about the relationship between Paris and New York. In particular, there was an emphasis on creative and easily-portable accessories.

Particularly eye-catching was a number of bags featuring what looked like miniaturised TV screens.

Turns out, the accessories were a high-tech prototype of the label’s new Connected bag line. The screens work a bit like smartphones, displaying content from a dedicated LV platform when connected to wifi.

A number of classic styles appeared on the runway with a Connected update, including what looks like a take on the brand’s iconic Speedy.

There’s no word yet on when the bags will be ready to hit stores. In the meantime, you can watch the Cruise 2020 show here.
