LVMH is opening a luxury hotel in London

LVMH is cementing its place in the hospitality industry, with reports the luxury fashion house is set to open a hotel on London’s Grafton Street.
According to Business of Fashion, the company has plans to launch a hotel, restaurant, spa and potential Celine flagship store in the one building. The move is in collaboration with property developer O&H, and is rumoured to be worth up to half a billion pounds.
LVMH chief executive officer, Bernard Arnault, told Business of Fashion: “The future of luxury will not only be in luxury goods, as it’s been for many years, but also in luxury experiences, and we want to be in both segments.”
It follows the brand’s acquisition of hotel company Belmond in late 2018, and will join LVMH-owned hotel chains Cheval Blanc and Bulgari Hotels. If the aforementioned hotels are anything to go by, the new venture will be the height of luxury.
The Grafton Street project is due to be completed by 2022.
