Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015
A humbling first collection following the designer’s death.
Mere months after Oscar de la Renta’s passing, the much anticipated show from his namesake label went ahead last night, in a humbling tribute to the late designer.
It was steered by Creative Director Peter Copping, who de la Renta himself handpicked for the label just days before his death. An outpouring of support from the media, the public and the fashion house itself, meant Copping was able to lean on longtime insiders of the brand for guidance including sales director Boaz Mazor and former team member Carolyn Roehm. Copping had also shared a similar background to de la Renta, stating “We shared a lot of common territory… The sort of woman we appreciate, and going beyond that, gardens, homes, all of that sort of thing: We speak the same language.”
