Everything I wore for a week in Paris as a Melbourne designer

Summer dresses, platform sandals and local vintage finds.

Working in a creative role, it can be difficult to know how to dress for the day. Instead of having a set uniform of crisp white shirts and tailored black pants (as much as I love both), an ever-changing schedule means every morning requires a set of questions. Am I running around, or just sitting at my desk? Do I need to dress specifically for a project? And most importantly, will I be in the background of someone’s TikTok?

As an entrepreneur, student and the founder of Melbourne-based label Sage Avenue, Priya McPherson’s work days are often a balancing act. When she’s not studying or creating new pieces for Sage, Priya can be found vintage shopping, spending time with friends or – most recently – enjoying leisurely afternoon picnics under the Eiffel Tower. A mix of business and pleasure, Priya’s outfits on her recent trip to Paris were comprised of easy basics, Y2K-esque accessories and statement vintage finds. Below, she logs a week in her Paris travels and tells us about the outfits she chose to wear each day.

Monday

A flashback to my very first day in Paris In front of the Arc de Triomphe. I opted for an all-white outfit because you can never go wrong with a white-on-white look, it’s always classy and complete. I’m wearing a white strapless top, a vintage skirt, the Sage Edition 3 in chestnut brown and the sunglasses are a Sage sample (eep!).

Tuesday

Can you tell I was having a long skirt and white top moment? Just about to head into my favourite wine and ice cream bar called Folderol. Trust me: you must add this to your list for a Parisian tour, it’s such a vibe. I’m wearing a Zara white strapless top, a vintage Tiffany Ireloar skirt and a Sage Edition 3 handbag again in chestnut brown.

Wednesday

When I tell you I struck gold, I seriously did! I picked this dress up from a Paris vintage store and it has been one of my absolute best finds yet. Plus, did I also mention my favourite colour is red? Like, hello. The dress is vintage Talle, the shoes are Coperni slides and the handbag is the Sage Edition 3 in jet black.

Thursday

Okay, I must confess – vintage shopping in Paris hits different. I scored this vintage Dolce & Gabbana top from another Paris vintage store. It’s been on repeat since and will continue to be for the rest of my travels here. Here I’m wearing a vintage Dolce & Gabbana top, a beige Luck & Trouble pleated mini, Coperni slides and the Sage Edition 3 handbag in chestnut brown.

Friday

This picture was taken while making my way to the Eiffel Tower for a picnic with all my besties. It was truly a core memory for me – having my closest all together and watching the sunset with the tower in the background, sipping on French wine and French food. Chef’s kiss! Vintage dress (which is sadly unnamed), Coperni slides and the Sage Edition 3 in chestnut brown again.
