One giant leap for cold people everywhere.
While the majority of Australians are currently experiencing a heatwave, Ralph Lauren is prepping for winter with the release of heated jackets.
Paying homage to the Apollo 11 moon landing (2019 marks the 50th anniversary) two puffer-style designs mimic the pressure suits worn on space missions.
Each jacket comes with a built-in heating component, which you can control wirelessly via Bluetooth through an app.
A battery plugs into the jacket’s inside pocket, which can be charged with a Mophie power bank or USB power source. As an added bonus, the battery can also be used to charge phones, with a three-hour battery life in total.
According to WWD, there are two models on offer. The first, dubbed the Polo 11 (see what they did there?), will retail for $1098 USD, and will be available via Ralph Lauren’s Polo app, plus in select Ralph Lauren stores globally.
Following that will be the Glacier down jacket, retailing for $898 USD and also sold across the app and Ralph Lauren stores internationally.
The Ralph Lauren polo jackets are set to launch January 24 (pun intended).
