βColour, comfort, cool and cute.β
We know personal style is a journey (Iβm looking at you, Tumblr years), so weβve introduced a new series Hey, I Like Your Style!, diving into the fashion psyche of our favourite creatives. Weβre talking the good, the bad and the 2007.
While the internet has made our fashion icons feel closer than ever before, even the most effortless of outfits came from a closet with some (well-dressed) skeletons. Clickable product tags, photo archives and lives chronicled in 30-second clips just donβt tell the full story.

These are the stories behind the wardrobes, exploring how we develop our own personal style. Thereβs a brilliance behind the way we choose to express ourselves and at FJ, we know every outfit has a story.
This week, weβre exploring the style of Ladies of Leisure founder and Melbourne creative, Savannah Anand-Sobti. A fan of creature comforts like cozy knitwear, Savannah is all about dreamy, colourful pieces that are stylish while still being practical.
A special thanks toΒ Creative VictoriaΒ who made this iteration ofΒ Hey, I Like Your Style! possible. Read on for Savannahβs style journey.Β

I am a Desi-Kiwi woman living in Naarm. I recently worked with the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival curating a wide range of their program. I also founded a community project [called] Ladies of Leisure and have dabbled in various other pursuits.
Iβm a recent Tik Tok addict. Theyβre a few great content creators on there that have some great theories on developing your own personal style to help guide you into what things to buy and keep in your wardrobe. One tool they had was to break down your style into three words.

Mine would be colour, comfort, cool and cute. [Itβs] four, but I couldnβt pick between cool and cute because I think I like the combo.
What has your style evolution looked like? Do you feel like youβve gained confidence in the way you dress?Β

As I have aged, matured and studied, Iβve gained confidence in all areas of life. I studied textile design, which is where I gained an understanding of colour and colour combinations, which is something Iβm really into.
Personal style is a journey. Have you ever felt like you needed to fit into a particular fashion box?
I would imagine everyone would subconsciously at some point feel the need to assimilate into society, and fashion is just one of those mediums. Yet, at the same time, itβs a great way to try and create some personal identity. I think Iβm still influenced by who Iβm around and what environment or mood Iβm in.
