Remember the ’90s, when colour-changing toys (read: mermaid Barbie) were all the rage? Now, a new brand is applying that same concept to bathers, and let the fun begin.
Crowdfunded on Kickstarter in under 24 hours, SEA’SONS has created a swim short that changes colour when in contact with water or hot/cold temps. And not in the becomes-see-through-by-accident sort of way.
While the concept may seem familiar, the tech’s new. SEA’SONS’ fabric is treated with heat-sensitive microcapsules, meaning the shorts change colour when in contact with cold water. When they dry, voilà! Back to the original shade.
The shorts are available in four changeable colours – green/yellow, purple/pink, blue/green and orange/yellow.
