Vans partners with the Van Gogh Museum for its latest release

Words by Tara Smith

Iconic.

Vans has teamed up with the Van Gogh Museum for a historic release.

In an exclusive collection that literally takes Van Gogh’s art ‘off the wall’, the skate brand has carefully selected four bodies of work to be reinterpreted into Vans silhouettes.

Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, Skull, Almond Blossom and self-portrait are all celebrated throughout the collection, across tees, hoodies, bombers and shoes.

Sunflowers is wrapped across every panel of the Authentic, as well as an accompanying hoodie and tee. Almond Blossom is digitally printed on a bomber, hat and backpack, while Van Gogh’s self-portrait has also been reinterpreted onto the Authentic and an oversized tee.

As well, Vans has printed the artist’s Old Vineyard with Peasant Woman drawing on its Old Skool, while a Classic Slip-On features excerpts from a handwritten letter by Van Gogh himself.

A portion of profits from the Vans x Van Gogh Museum collection will go towards the preservation of the artist’s collection. Its due to drop exclusively at select Incu stores and online from August 3.
