Immortalised forever.
After touring around the world for five years, the David Bowie Is exhibition is being immortalised into an augmented reality app.
The exhibition – which travelled to 12 cities – opened at Melbourne’s ACMI in 2015, but if you missed it, now’s your chance to relive the magic.
The app will host a huge archive of costumes, music videos, handwritten lyrics and artworks that were part of the original exhibition. On top of that, there’ll be dozens of new items exclusive to the app. Users will be able to view the archives in 360-degree detail, featuring music and narration from Bowie himself.
Originally announced in June, the app will now officially launch January 8, 2019 – what would have been Bowie’s 72nd birthday.
It will be available on both iOS and Android devices.
As we reported previously, the David Bowie is exhibition has been digitally immortalised for the David Bowie is Augmented Reality mobile app, available in iOS and Android on 8th January 2019: https://t.co/ZJeKdrgUE9 Go here for the full press release: https://t.co/U4YJ7c4aUw pic.twitter.com/Il9w2YhCXd
