Dig out your PF Flyers: ‘The Sandlot’ is getting a TV series

The Sandlot kids are back.

There are two types of people in this world: those who watched The Sandlot religiously growing up, and those who weren’t that lucky.

Now, more than 25 years since its release, the film’s writer and director, David Mickey Evans, has confirmed news of a television revival.

Speaking to podcast The Rain Delay, Evans said the new series will be set in 1984 and feature all the original cast members.

“I just sold a Sandlot television show. We’re about to get an order for the first two seasons. I already got all the original cast members back. It takes place in 1984, when they’re all, like, 33 years old and they all have children of their own, and that’s all I can tell you.”

While there are no further details at this stage, you can bet we’ll be keeping an ear to the ground for updates.
