Facebook isn’t just helping boost our friendship count. It might be trying to get a slice of our dating lives as well.

With many modern-day relationships beginning with a casual swipe, it seems fitting that Facebook is jumping on the online dating bandwagon.

Currently, US Facebook employees are testing a new dating feature that allows them to search for dates among their friend list. Apparently, the site picks potential dates from the info it already knows about you. Yikes.

At an F8 developers conference a few months back, Zuckerberg revealed the feature would be for “building real, long-term relationships – not just for hookups.”

Don’t fear, from what we know, no dating info will be shared on your news feed. For an added level of privacy, you’ll even be able to choose if friends of friends can spot you on their recommended list.

The feature is still in its prototype stage, so for now you’ll have to enjoy Facebook for memes and ex-stalking. Like the rest of us.
