Facebook wants to charge you for joining groups

In a bid to cause anarchy across the globe, Facebook has begun testing a ‘payment’ feature for Facebook Groups.
This means you could be charged a monthly subscription for being a member of Dogspotting, Fairy Floss Real Estate or PPENNYLANE. It’s our worst fears realised.
In a press release, Facebook attempted to rationalise its new feature:
“We know that admins invest their time and energy to maintain their groups, and some have told us that they would like tools to help them continue to invest in their community and offer more to members.
Today, we’re piloting subscriptions with a small number of groups to continue to support group admins who lead these communities.”
Since it’s only in the pilot phase, Dogspotting is safe, for now. Whatever happened to ‘Facebook will always be free’ Zuckerberg?
