Fitbit rolls out a period-tracking feature

Words by Tara Smith

About bloody time.

Fitbit has finally rolled out a period-tracking feature in its latest update.

The feature will enable users to monitor their menstrual cycles – including period flow and length, as well as symptoms like cramps and headaches.

Anyone who identifies as female on their Fitbit will have the tracking automatically enabled, while other users can add it manually. The update affects the Versa and Ionic models, and is available now across iOS and Windows devices. Android users will have to wait until the end of May.

While many period-tracking apps already exist, the feature allows Fitbit users to store all their health information in one place. The Fitbit tracker can also help predict the arrival of your next period and when you’re fertile.

The future is here.
