What the FJ editors are saving for from Kip&Co’s latest summer drop

Some well-deserved retail therapy.

As we approach the warmer months and reach the tail-end of what can only be described as a rollercoaster of a year, new freedoms and beginnings await us. And what better way to welcome in the summertime than with a lavish revamp of your living space.

Luckily for us, Kip&Co’s latest summer range, aptly named Golden Hour, is injecting a little life back into our homes. The vibrant collection is channelling sweet weekend escapes and life’s simple pleasures, featuring dreamy floral robes, cosy printed throws, and lush, 100 per cent GOTS-certified cotton bedding.

Keen to see what everyone is saving for, the wonderful crew over at Kip&Co kindly gave the FJ team an exclusive sneak peek at the new range. We’ve shared our wishlist pieces below to spark some inspiration for your next homewares haul.

I’ve only recently started investing in my sleeping habitat (my mattress was on the floor for longer than I’d care to admit) and my beautiful new bed frame requires luxe linen to go with. I’m looking for a colourful but not-juvenile bed set that I’ll love for years to come and the Skyline Tartan Linen Quilt Cover fits the bill perfectly. I gravitate towards anything in a green, blue and pink colour combo (done tastefully, of course).

Our bath mat is the soggy, smelly, greyish bane of my domestic existence. No matter how many times it gets washed (which feels like a lot), it remains a very sad-looking bathroom eyesore. Lockdown means my hot showers are a highlight in my day and our depressing bathroom is bringing down the vibe. I’m going to start the revamp with the Daisy Bath Mat because it’s super cute and doesn’t smell like wet foot (yet).

Our bathroom is still in its original 1950s state, complete with a pink bath, basin, toilet and tiles. I’m a sucker for original features, so I could never bring myself to renovate the space, which means interior styling is really important to stop our bathroom from looking dated. The whole room is a soft blush colour, so I’m eyeing this Waffle Bath Linen Set in sage to complement the pink. I’ll likely add a matching waffle robe to my order, as they’re all I’ve been wearing during lockdown.

I’m a sucker for playful interiors. It’s an easy way to bring joy into your home and for me, it’s a nice reminder to not take life too seriously. My most recent playful purchase came last year in the form of this Rittle vase plastered in smiley faces, and I’m now well overdue for my next one. I’ve got my eye on these vibrant salad servers. I can see them sitting in the middle of a shared table among family and friends – a moment I’ve been dreaming of for months. Hopefully, it isn’t too far away!

Cushions are very important to me. I like to have a good selection on my bed at any one time and find there’s something so reassuring about being surrounded by their soft cosiness. Currently, I’m searching for new cushions for our downstairs lounge. The room is quite dark, so the Harlequin Pastel Shag Cushion will provide the ideal pop of colour (and, most importantly, it looks exceptionally cuddly).

I know I’m not alone in spending more time picnicking in parks over the last two years than I have throughout my entire life. Now that outside eating and socialising is firmly established as the only way we can socialise outside our house (for the time being, anyway), adding this Salted Caramel Tartan Throw to my picnic basket seems like a no brainer. The colours are cute and I know it’s going to get a heck of a lot of use in the upcoming months.

When on the hunt for fancy new home decor to spruce up your space, it’s easy to look past apparel, but what’s the point in having your home all spick and span if you don’t look the part? So to ensure my old, dishevelled pyjamas don’t stick out like a sore thumb, I’m opting for something with a little more colour. This French Linen Bath Robe in Rio Floral is bound to inject a little life back into my loungewear, all the while looking like I’ve stepped out of a dreamy Monet painting.

Living in a share house during the pandemic has definitely been a godsend with mid-week movie nights becoming something I look forward to a little too much. And with this has come an obsessive need to ensure our living room turned DIY-home-theatre is as comfy as humanly possible. I’m talking fluffy doonas, waffle throws and dreamy mood-lighting. So you can imagine my delight when I discovered this regal looking velvet beanbag. Catch me lounging on this fluffy emerald marshmallow in my next Zoom meetings.
