In what is music to our ears, IKEA has revealed its collaboration with Sonos at Milan Design Week.

Combining function and form, the two-piece collection includes a lamp and a mini bookshelf – which are both equipped with Sonos speakers inside.

Titled SYMFONISK (Swedish for ‘symphonic’), the collection was created with the aim of combining light and sound to establish a certain mood.

The bookshelf can be laid horizontally or vertically, and can hold up to 3kg of weight. Both products can be controlled wirelessly through the Sonos app and are compatible with existing Sonos products.

According to IKEA, the lamp is set to retail for €179 in Europe, while the bookshelf will be available for €99.95.

There’s no word yet on Australian pricing, but we can expect the SYMFONISK collection to hit our shores sometime after August.
