A new beginning.

Anyone who has ever step foot inside IKEA will know that the Swedish meatballs are as iconic as the MALM drawer. Well, not anymore.

As of today, Swedish meatballs are officially out. Roo balls are in.

Yes, that’s right, IKEA Australia has introduced the limited-edition Kangaroo meatball, available for three days only as part of its Democratic Design Days festival in Sydney.

To get your hands on this delectable ball of Aussie meat, punters will need to head to the festival at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art. Word on the street is there’s also a salmon ball floating around, if that’s more your style.

Roo ball tastings will be open to the public 11am – 1pm during the three days.

Head here to get your ticket to IKEA’s Democratic Design Days, and be on your way to meatball glory.
