Hey now!

’00s kids rejoice, because Lizzie McGuire is finally returning to our screens.

Genuine light of our lives Hilary Duff announced at Disney’s D23 Expo that her magnum opus is getting a reboot next year.

Picking up a decade and a half after the show ended, the new series will follow Lizzie as a 30-year-old living in Manhattan.

For those who are (understandably) sceptical about reboots ruining everything they hold dear, take comfort in the fact that the creator of the OG series, Terri Minsky, will be returning as showrunner.

But we still have so many questions.

What has Lizzie been up to? What does she do for a living? Is she still a fashion icon? Is she still friends with Gordo and Miranda? Whatever happened to Ethan Craft?

Apparently, we’ll have to wait till 2020 to find out. The show will stream on Disney’s yet-to-be-released streaming service, Disney +, which is tough luck for loyal Netflix or Stan users.

Disney + is set to launch in Australia on November 19, so you’ve got until then to decide whether Lizzie is worth signing up for another subscription.
