Whoops?

Lush has just admitted to underpaying 5,000 staff members over the last eight years.

CEO Peta Granger told Hack that, due to a payroll system glitch that came to the brand’s attention last year, over $2 million is owed to current and former employees.

Granger said the underpayment was not deliberate, and that the team at Lush are “committed to connecting with every employee who’s been affected by [the] mistake”.

In a move to right this wrong, the skincare powerhouse has today launched a national backpay scheme, with payments set to be dished out around December.

While the full extent of the glitch is yet to be calculated, some staff could be owed up to $10,000 in lost wages. But the average payment is estimated at a much lower $400 per staff member.

Lush is urging anybody who has worked for the company since 2010 to register online at lushbackpay.com. But don’t worry, all affected employees will be contacted whether they get the memo to register or not.
