Bring on the drama.
Just when you’d started to forget about Fyre Festival, Netflix is releasing a documentary on the infamously failed event.
If you love drama and watching rich, famous people cry, you need to put Fyre’s release date in your calendar.
The film will offer an inside look into the Hunger Games-esque festival, where elite guests expecting a luxury island experience were scammed out of USD$250,000 a head.
A first-look trailer, which dropped last night on Twitter, combines video taken on the island – complete with emergency tents, sad food rations, and not a glass of bubbly in sight – with shots from the original model-laden promo videos.
The doco promises exclusive footage of festival conditions as well as interviews with founders Billy McFarland (currently in prison for fraud) and Ja Rule.
Fyre will premiere on Netflix January 18. Check out the trailer below.
