Following news of Playboy’s first transgender Playmate, international modelling agency Ford has signed its first transgender model.
You’ll no doubt recognise the name Andreja Pejic. In 2015, the Aussie beauty became the first transgender model to land a profile spread in Vogue America. In 2016, she scored her first fashion cover for Marie Claire. And in April of this year, Andreja became the first transgender person on the cover of GQ.
“On a personal level, three years ago, I was dropped by a modelling agency after I came out publicly as transgender,” Andreja told Forbes.
“It feels good to go from not even knowing if I would have a future in the modelling business to joining forces with one of the biggest names in the industry, and following in the footstep of Christie Brinkley, Jerry Hall, Alek Wek – the list goes on and on.”
