Like Karen Smith’s breasts, this peg tells you when it’s going to rain

Also when you’re clothing’s dry.

Ah, the humble clothesline peg. When it comes to underrated household items, it’s at the top of the list.

It does its job, it does it well. And somehow the Hills Hoist gets all the credit.

Well, the peg is about to get the recognition it deserves after a makeover at Omo.

The company has just released a prototype for a tech-savvy peg that sends your phone a message when it’s about to rain.

Remembering to take your clothes off the line when they’re dry isn’t your problem anymore, it’s the peg’s job.

Appropriately nicknamed ‘Peggy’, it even reminds users to unload clean laundry from the washing machine within 30 minutes of it finishing.

The peg’s loaded with sensors to sense UV light over your clothes, as well as detecting the humidity and temperature outside your house.

It pretty much does everything but the washing.

The app also sends users alerts and updates about local events and play ideas for families, encouraging them to step away from the washing machine.

It’s a peg revolution and Omo’s leading the charge.

No word of an Australian release of Peggy yet, but we’ll be waiting.
