Wild.

You thought your family had issues.

According to TMZ, Rihanna has filed a lawsuit against her father, Ronald Fenty, for using the Fenty brand name (and profiting from it) without her permission.

Apparently, Ronald launched a talent development company under the name ‘Fenty Entertainment’ back in 2017, after Rihanna had already trademarked the name for her multiple business ventures.

Reports also suggest Ronald and his business partner, Moses Joktan Perkins, falsely advertised themselves as Rihanna’s agents, going as far as booking her into a run of shows in Latin America for $15 million – without the authorisation of Rihanna herself.

And that’s still not the end of it.

The singer also claims her dad tried to file a trademark for ‘Fenty’ to launch a franchise of boutique resort hotels. She has since sent multiple cease and desist letters which he has ignored – instead continuing to profit off Fenty Entertainment.

Rihanna has asked a judge to place an injunction on her father using the Fenty name, and is suing for damages to the tune of $75 million.

We wouldn’t want to be sitting around the table at that Christmas lunch.
