“No one discovered McQueen, McQueen discovered himself,” explains the intense trailer for the upcoming Alexander McQueen documentary.

Directed and produced by Ian Bonhôte, McQueen will explore the remarkable designer’s personal struggles and most iconic fashion moments in a dramatic rags-to-riches story.

Audiences are promised a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the life of the late British designer, with snippets from at home movies and emotional interviews with close friends and family woven throughout.

McQueen will be showcased this weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival and is set for a limited release in June. A second McQueen film, The Ripper, is also on its way and will examine McQueen’s creative relationship with fashion editor Isabella Blow.
