Irreplaceable.

On today’s episode of Parents trying to profit off their successful offspring, Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, has plans to produce his own Destiny’s Child musical.

Survivor: The Destiny’s Child Musical will be told from Mathew’s point of view, apparently offering a behind-the-scenes look at the greatest girl group of all-time, ‘courtesy of the mastermind behind them’. His words, not ours.

“I want to pull back the curtain,” a statement on Mathew’s website reads. “I feel it’s time to give the world an opportunity to hear, see and feel the victories and failures that I’ve had as a husband, father and manager who risked everything in pursuit of fulfilling dreams – those of mine and others.”

The musical will tell the story of the group’s humble beginnings, before embarking on the rollercoaster ride that was the success of Destiny’s Child.

Mathew has also tapped writer, producer and director Je’Caryous Johnson to work on the musical, known most recently for his 2018 play based on the life and music of Snoop Dogg.

According to Mathew’s website, the new production will premiere in Houston in 2020, with plans for Broadway, London’s West End and eventually, a world tour.

There’s no word yet on who will play Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, but it’s safe to say they’ve got pretty big shoes to fill.
