Following the successful release of ‘Mistakes’ with Tkay Maidza, Sydney producer Basenji has tasked himself with reworking JoJo’s ‘Baby It’s You’.
I know what you’re thinking, JoJo can’t be made better, it’s already perfect. But take it from me, a devout ‘Too Little, Too Late’ fan, this bootleg is a match made in heaven.
Basenji has turned the RnB love ballad into a light, uplifting track that maintains its early 2000s roots, while modernising it in a way that works for 2018.
It’s the second release from a four-part bootleg series, which began with Hudson Mohawke’s ‘Chimes’. Each week in March, Basenji will premiere a new track from one of his favourite artists.
