An afternoon spent with Lisa Mitchell
Talking touring, Netflix and time spent at home.
Since releasing her latest album Warriors, Aussie gem Lisa Mitchell has been busy.
She recently finished her European tour and is already onto the next, playing across the country with Dustin Tebbutt.
In a brief break between shows, Lisa headed down to a Bondi park to play model with photographer Nicole Corbett.
We also managed to squeeze in a few quickfire questions with the artist. Here are her thoughts on touring, Netflix binges and being at home.
Home is… walking through the Australian bush with a dog at my heels.
My fave location from my European tour was… Paris! It’s still so charming to me. I loved playing there again earlier this year!
Sunrise or sunset… sunset. The colours are such a beautiful goodbye.
My Australian shows in one word… heart.
Distant calls are… always heard.
Lisa Mitchell x Dustin Tebbutt… two grown up country kids singing about their feelings together. This tour has been so different to what I’m used to. The whole set is woven together with both of our songs and we collaborate a lot.
My favourite fashion label to wear on tour… I feel amazing in my custom-made Maroske Peech blouses!
Pop art is… immediate. Feeling. Drama.
The last song I listened to was… Jack River’s new song, ‘Fools Gold’.
The best song from Warriors to play live is… ‘Josephine’. I feel so vulnerable every time and I can almost feel the audience leaning in, as if to catch me.
My go-to TV show to binge watch… I went back to the start with Gilmore Girls. Still going!
Never go on tour without… Australian Bush Flower Essences, a good book and a cosy jumper.
The first thing I’ll do once I finish touring is… hug my parents, followed by hours in the kitchen cooking!
