A K-Pop boot camp is coming to Melbourne

If you’ve ever dreamed of becoming a K-Pop star, there’s now a boot camp to give you a taste of what it takes.

Talent agency The Academy is bringing a reality TV-style boot camp to Melbourne, where you’ll be able to work with some of Korea’s best trainers and choreographers.

Customised for “K-Pop talents who want to know what being a Kpop Idol is like,” the boot camp will replicate the gruelling routines undertaken by the most successful K-Pop stars. According to The Academy, the class could open doors for the most talented participants, thanks to its partnerships with Korean agencies.

The class will be filmed in the style of a talent series available to watch online, showcasing the auditions, orientation, training and a final showcase at the end of the week, with someone being named the top-trainee of the year.

Auditions for the class take place throughout June in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and you can register online to try out. If you don’t make it, there’ll also be a wildcard round where you can audition via YouTube video.

The Academy will then pick its top 40 participants to join the class, which runs from September 23 to September 30.
