And goes carbon neutral.

Setting up shop on the banks of the Yarra, immersive pop-up venue Kubik has been announced as the 2019 Melbourne Music Week Hub.

Situated in Alexandra Gardens, the German-designed structure will be the centre of the festival and is set to host local and international artists every evening from Friday November 15 to Saturday November 23.

On its tenth anniversary the festival will be certified carbon neutral and, for the first time, will work towards a zero-waste Hub.

Iconic Melbourne venues such as The Curtin, Ferdydurke, and New Guernica will host music events and gigs, and communal spaces like the NGV and MPavilion will hold talks on topics such as music and mood, cancel culture, and sustainability in the industry.

On Friday November 15, festival headliner CC:Disco! will kick-start the festival. French electronic icon Kittin will play on Saturday as will Jennifer Loveless and Sunshine & Disco Faith Choir.

Germany’s Monolake and Robin Fox will perform with Andy Stott on November 20.

In an Australian debut, the ‘Godfathers of Techno’ Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft will be performing at the Melbourne Town Hall as the international headliners for 2019.

In true Melbourne-style the festival will spill into laneways, streets and some of the most iconic CBD music venues. Acts like Sarah Mary Chadwick, Stonefield, and Roza Terenzi are just a few of the other artists performing throughout the week.
