Exclusive: Sydney producer Anatole drops music video for ‘Outgrown’
WORDS BY TARA SMITH
With a debut album to follow.
Following the announcement of his debut album, Sydney producer Anatole has released the music video for his latest single ‘Outgrown’.
The track was recorded in Melbourne, and features the vocals of Big Scary’s Tom Lansek mixed over the top. It brings together layers of acoustic instruments, electronic beats, synths and Lansek’s ambient vocals.
Anatole notes his inspiration for the accompanying clip. “The concept for ‘Outgrown’ came naturally while listening to the song on repeat. There’s such an intense intimacy that builds on top of Tom’s incredible vocals, and the various instruments that pop in and out of the track really seemed to carry their own personality.”
The video was directed by Jeff Anderson, whose work you might recognise from Emma Louise’s ‘Jungle’ video clip.
Anatole has already supported the likes of Gordi, Kllo and Japanese Wallpaper, and is set to release his debut album in early 2018.
