The director of ‘The September Issue’ is making a documentary about Billie Eilish

Words by Fashion Journal

When we all fall asleep, where do we go?

It pays to be in pain, and nothing has proved that more than 17-year-old Billie Eilish’s stratospheric success.

After less than a year in the public eye, the goth-pop star will now take a camera crew behind the scenes of the making of her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

Director R.J. Cutler will be behind the lens, and if his iconic feature documentary The September Issue is the benchmark of behind-the-scenes voyeurism we’re hoping for, his track record is promising.

The doco will go behind the scenes of Billie’s family home in LA, presumably to the in-house studio where she and her producer brother co-wrote and recorded most of the album.

The feature will air on Apple TV+ in 2020, watch this space for the exact release date.
