How it feels/smells/looks

These shadows are all really beautiful – I was surprised how much I actually fell for this palette. The mattes are easy to blend and come in a great variety of warm browns and deeper oranges/plums/purples. The shimmery shades are really wearable but are much better applied with a flat brush rather than your fingers. The darkest and lightest shades are also really well done, rounding out a palette that suits all my daily needs. I also LOVE the packaging – the mirror is fabulous and this is a great winter palette you can use on the go.

Why I like it

I’m a fan of the Tarte eyeshadow formula – each shade is made with Tarte’s iconic, blendable Amazonian clay-infused powder that glides on like a cream. There’s been a lot of comparison between this palette and Urban Decay’s Heat palette – which would I choose? Honestly, the colour selection is VERY similar. They both have great quality eyeshadows and packaging, so it’s going to come down to personal preference. I would recommend swatching both of them and seeing which appeals more. I personally seem to be reaching more for the Tarte!

Areas for improvement

I would have loved to have seen one really dark brown shade, rather than the deep purple. I also think there could be one or two less orange shades, but overall, it’s a very solid palette – highly recommend for lovers of warm/neutral tones.
