Beauty report: Born This Way foundation

♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ ♥︎ 1/2

Name: Too Faced Born This Way foundation
Price: $57
What it does: A medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation that boasts an undetectable finish. It reduces the appearance of blemishes and evens skin tone, giving a natural looking luminous glow.
Key ingredients: Luckily for me, this foundation is oil-free but avoids dryness with the use of coconut water. Alpine rose and hyaluronic acid are also used for a smoother, more radiant appearance.
Available from: mecca.com.au

How it feels/smells/looks

Honestly, when you first put this foundation on you will look like the phantom of the opera. For some reason, it goes on really thick. But once it settles and blends in, you’re left with an unbelievably realistic finish. I can’t quite explain how that works but it does. The packaging is also really well done. The bottle’s glossy black lid, gold lettering and frosted glass vessel has earned its place on my dresser next to my fancy perfume.

Why I like it

It’s pretty rare to find a full coverage foundation that looks natural. I don’t usually wear much makeup, I prefer the less-is-more look. But this foundation allows me to hide all of my morning-after bags and stress-induced pimples, without making me look like a chorus girl. My favourite part is that my skin feels hydrated all day long and doesn’t get overly oily by the end of the day.

Areas for improvement

I am a really big fan of this product, however, I’m looking for SPF protection to hide from that Australian sun. I think Too Faced could definitely add some SPF 15+ for a more health-conscious product.
