Crafting 3D tools in the name of beauty.

While 3Dprinting technology has allowed for such innovations like recycled plastic sneakers and these terrifying figurines of yourself, it’s now being used to revolutionise the beauty industry.

Say hello to the world’s first 3D-printed mascara, courtesy of Chanel.

Le Volume Révolution de Chanel boasts an innovative mascara brush formed using 3D-printing, to distribute the formula evenly onto each individual brush bristle. The brush’s advanced design features a slightly rough, granular surface texture, which improves overall adherence to the lashes. With this technology, you can build up volume without dipping the brush into the tube between applications.

Chanel first debuted the mascara at its Cruise 2019 show earlier this month and we can expect an official release date come September. From June, the brand plans to use 3D-printing to produce up to one million brushes per month, completely changing the game.
