Everything you need to know about the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying Tool.
Though I like experimenting with my clothes, I’ve had long brown hair for as long as I can remember. It’s my signature, at this point. It works as the perfect base, too. I can let it air dry, wear it up or style it. For me, the benefits of having long locks are the endless possibilities that come with it.

Ever since the Shark FlexStyle first launched in Australia a couple of years ago, I’ve been desperate to get my hands on it. I knew it came with several different attachments and was drawn to the endless styling opportunities.
Naturally, when the limited edition Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying Tool in Frosted Diamond Sparkle landed in my lap, I couldn’t wait to try it out. I could well and truly put each and every attachment to the test. And without spoiling how it went, let me just say: drying and styling my hair with 20,000 shimmering crystals felt pretty luxe.
My first impressions of the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying Tool
There are six attachments for the limited edition Frosted Diamond Sparkle Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying Tool, including two auto-wrap curlers, an oval and a paddle brush, a diffuser and a styling concentrator, plus a heat pad and storage box.
After reading through the instructions and realising what each attachment was capable of, the possibilities started to feel endless (in the best way possible). I could blow-wave my hair, go all-out with ‘90s style curls or add a gentle wave… There was no limit.

How to use the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying Tool
It’s been a few weeks trialling the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying Tool and I’m happy to say once I started, it was fairly seamless to master. The base of the tool is a hair dryer, so I’d recommend giving it a quick dry once you’re out of the shower, especially if you go straight into using the auto-wrap curlers.
Auto-wrap curlers

The auto-wrap curler attachments would easily be my most used. The curlers are labelled left and right, which makes life easier, knowing I’m always curling away from my face. They also have clearly marked arrows to help line up each bunch of hair. Then, the tool does the rest. It wraps your locks like magic.
I found it best to keep the settings on the highest heat and air flow and to hold the curl in place for about 10 seconds. Then, I blasted the cool shot setting to set the curls. It works well on bangs, too, giving them a fun ’70s flick on the ends.
Then, when I’m ready, I give my hair a good brush through and I’m ready to go! The auto-wrap curlers are perfect for when you have a bit of time to put in that extra bit of effort. I love using it for a night out with the girls and the salon-worthy curls hold well, so I’m still reaping the benefits the next day.
Paddle Brush

The paddle brush attachment is a lifesaver when I’m in a rush but still want to look put together. It straightens, detangles and smooths in one go, leaving my hair nice and shiny. Plus, it’s a lifesaver in controlling the pesky flyaways. So far, I’ve been able to dry and style my hair at the same time, and be ready to walk out the door in as little as five minutes.
When using it, I like to section my hair and brush it from the top before brushing it underneath to give it some volume. I give my bangs an extra brush through from underneath, which helps tame my cowlick.
Oval Brush

If I need an easy, elevated look, I’ll opt for the Oval Brush. It’s my go-to for most events. It smooths, defrizzes and adds volume and bounce to every section. When using it, I’ll give my hair a quick blow-dry until it’s damp (rather than dripping wet). I’ve found having the temperature and airflow in the middle range works best.
Then, I section off my hair and try to get as close to the roots as possible for optimal volume, guiding the brush through. I like to switch the direction I blow-dry to encourage some subtle waves, too.
For my bangs, I tend to go in both directions, starting underneath so I can get plenty of volume and then from the top outwards to sweep them out. To finish, I’ll run my hands or a comb through my locks and add a small drop of hair oil.
Would I try the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying Tool again?

I would (and have continued to use it) again! The Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying Tool has become a weekly staple for me. I use it after almost every hair wash day.
One of the biggest selling points for me is how long the styles last. Typically, once I style my hair, I’ll be good for two to three days (with a few touch-ups if needed). I love streamlining my morning routine, so this is a major drawcard.
Plus, the different attachments mean that if I’m time-pressed, I can give it a quick brush through, while for important events, I can take my time with the auto-wrap curlers. And, I must admit, the Frosted Diamond Sparkle colourway makes it feel that much more glamorous.
