As the Buying Assistant, you will be reporting into the Buyer and supporting them in all aspects of the product development and range building process, delivering garments that meet all DECJUBA standards, are “on brand” and successfully achieve sales budgets. This role will have a strong administrative focus to ensure all styles are managed effectively and order details are up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all samples in a timely and orderly manner including: documenting originals, filing fit samples, sorting for sample sales, handover shipping samples to E-com to photograph for website imagery
- In line with rotating roster, distribute up to date documents (stock drops, marketing handover & sign off packs) to necessary teams while ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Participate in review of all submissions with the Buyer, and attend regular trade meetings to build understanding of category performance
- Accurately communicate all approval comments to suppliers within a timely manner
- Assist in fit sessions with commercial, creative and constructive input, and collect all fitting notes
- Contribute to trend research that is aligned with the DECJUBA customer, and conduct regular store visits and competitor analysis with the Buyer
- Work collaboratively with other departments during range handover meetings
- Raise and update styles and product descriptions in AP21
- Liaise with Production to request, track and receipt photoshoot & blogger samples in line with marketing deadlines
- Set up tech packs for each new style and manage the filing of tech packs
KEY SKILLS
- Prior experience in a similar role within the Buying space
- Experience with InDesign and Adobe Suite
- Exposure to AP21 highly desirable
- High level attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly with local and offshore suppliers
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
