We’re looking for a part-time Junior Graphic Designer to join our creative studio – a warm, talented and deeply collaborative team working out of a beautiful loft-style space in Sydney. Someone who can take ownership of their responsibilities, bring genuine creative energy, and grow with us as we grow.
You’ll sit alongside our Senior Graphic Designer, working on real briefs across digital, print, social and e-commerce, while you complete your studies. We would love to hear from creative, detail-driven students who are seeking an opportunity to progress within a dynamic environment, and who feel a genuine pull toward the way lifestyle, design and brand identity come together.
About You
A successful candidate will have:
• Currently enrolled in a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related creative discipline
• High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite — particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
• A strong eye for typography, layout and colour, with a considered, design-led perspective
• Experience or a strong interest in photography, image retouching and product imagery
• Great organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple timelines
• The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team
• A positive attitude, initiative and an eagerness to learn and grow
• A point of view, you bring fresh thinking, but know how to apply it with purpose
• A genuine passion for the way lifestyle, design and brand identity come together
Desirable:
• Experience with social media content creation or working to a marketing calendar
• Proficiency in video editing
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and website content management
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Graphic Designer, this is a hands-on role that will vary day-to-day, calling for creativity and a can-do attitude.
Design and Asset Production
• Adapt campaign imagery and graphics across multiple formats and platforms
• Produce digital, print and social media assets aligned with The Upside brand guideline
• Prepare production-ready artwork for print: lookbooks, packaging and in-store collateral
• Create and maintain templates to support the wider creative team
Photography and Retouching:
• Assist with in-store, flat lay and lifestyle photography
• Retouch and deep-etch product imagery for the e-boutique and marketplace listings
• Support photo and video shoots as required
• Manage and update website content, keeping imagery current and consistent
Content and Social Media
• Execute social content and work to the marketing calendar deadlines
• Assist with content creation across Instagram, email and other digital channels
• Support motion graphics and short-form video production where applicable
