Role Description

The Social and Content Specialist is responsible for championing the social and content strategy at July. This person knows what looks like high-performing elevated content looks like, and they can spot trends before they take off.

July is a four year business rapidly growing globally across Australia, US, UK, Asia and NZ. In its scaleup stage, we are looking for key leaders to drive our expansion globally. In the past year, the brand has achieved the following accolades: SmartCompany’s fastest growing SME in Australia, Mumbrella’s Travel Brand of the Year and the official luggage supplier to the Australian Olympians & Commonwealth Games athletes.

We aren’t just an eCommerce business. We have a core focus on product strategy and retail growth. With nine physical retail stores in Australia and the US, we are looking to grow our market share to new consumer segments and revenue channels. As Marketing Man, you’ll be deeply involved in this strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up strategy and content rollout for a new product range launch across channels
  • Briefing and collaborating with content creators
  • Keeping in touch with our favourite influencers and creators
  • Working with our Creative team to finalise the Instagram grid
  • Shooting a few IG reels and TikToks with our retail team
  • Working with our CX team to manage social media responses
  • Brainstorming upcoming content ideas and rollout with our Creative team
  • Nerding out on hook and hold rates with our VP of Growth
  • Pitching new social ideas to our Marketing tea
  • Develop, produce, and manage diverse content for July across platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest
  • Craft channel-specific content strategies to bring July to life through robust briefs for internal and external stakeholders, and through creating engaging videos and photos
  • Collaborate with the Creative and Marketing teams to ideate and execute in-house content aligning with brand briefs and commercial objectives
  • Manage brand social media pages, prioritising TikTok, leveraging trends and driving social commerce results
  • Create, edit, and schedule daily content aimed at building community engagement
  • Analyse industry trends, conduct market insights, and utilise performance-based reporting to guide content creation and growth strategies
  • Copywriting for all social requirements and assisting marketing with copywriting requests
  • When required, work with the Creative team for graphic design and video editing assistance
  • Community management and timely responses to customer queries on social media

 

KEY SKILLS

  • Ability to multitask, adhere to deadlines, and self-direct content creation
  • 2-4+ years in digital marketing / social media
  • Qualification in graphic design, communications, or marketing (experience can substitute formal qualifications)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, video editing software, and social media editing tools (coaching available)
  • Strong commercial understanding with an eye for trending aesthetics and a love of design
  • Experience in performance-based reporting and using metrics to drive growth strategies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, design trends, and pop culture references
  • Exceptional communication skills and a confident grasp of industry trends and culture
  • Proficient copywriting skills with a focus on maintaining brand voice and personality
