Australian fashion heavyweight Kym Ellery has debuted her January 2018 collection at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

Voluminous fabrics, embroidery and embellishments, webbed lace, and draped silhouettes reflect the designer’s vision to celebrate the new Ellery woman.

Embracing the connection between masculinity and femininity, the collection features man-style tailoring, forward-facing sleeves and open cuffed cigarette pants.

A skirt made with 40 metres of French silk twill stole the show, which took 120 artisanal hours to construct.

The jewellery collection draws inspiration from the female form, and vases from Kym Ellery’s mantelpiece – a nod to the brand’s ongoing sentiment ‘to collect and be cherished’.

Square-toed boots and slingback court shoes made from marble and tortoiseshell resin also appeared on the runway.

The second 2018 collection will be released at Paris Fashion Week in March.
