Donatella Versace says she won’t use fur going forward
A sign of things to come.
Versace has just announced it’s going fur-free, following the likes of Gucci, Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo.
In an interview with 1843 Magazine, designer Donatella Versace stated she will no longer be using fur in her designs.
“Fur? I am out of that. I don’t want to kill animals to make fashion. It doesn’t feel right.”
Despite her comments, at the time of writing, Versace is still promoting fur products, like this $1,450 fur cushion.
It looks like this decision is a sign of further changes to come, with Versace telling the mag she’s looking to recruit a new creative director.
“Yes I am Versace. But also Versace needs to mean change. And it needs to be an opportunity for others to express themselves,” she concluded.
