First Look: Extraordinary Ordinary Day unveils third collection

Just the right amount of gold.

Extraordinary Ordinary Day has launched its third footwear collection Confession and it’s the perfect everyday-meets-luxe line.

Each shoe style is geared towards individual expression, constructed from unique materials like eggshell leather, mesh and perforated leather in opulent colours. There’s just the right amount of gold and silver paired with black and white.

For this expressive collection, designer Ashley Lim reflected on her adolescence in Seoul:

“I grew up in Seoul, a conservative society, and as a young woman I felt very confined by its moral norms.”

“You can’t laugh too loud or it’s seen as being too masculine. If I wear bright clothing, people disapprove, since standing out is interpreted as being vulgar. You have to take small steps instead of big ones,” she said.

When she migrated to Australia at 19 years old, it all changed.

“I began to see that being an expressive woman in another society is completely fine,” she said. “In fact, it’s encouraged.”

Styles are designed in Sydney and handcrafted by a family-owned workshop in Seoul, so every step of the creation process is meticulous and made with love.

You can get your hands on a pair (or two) online or at select boutiques in Sydney, Melbourne and Toronto.
