An apology has since been issued.
It seems Forever 21 can never stray too far away from controversy.
Most recently, the retailer has been slammed for casting a white model to rep its latest Black Panther sweater, complete with a ‘Wakanda Forever’ slogan across the chest.
The internet was quick to call out the brand’s casting choice, labelling it as offensive and tone deaf.
Forever 21 has since removed the image in question and issued the following apology via TMZ:
“Forever 21 takes feedback on our products and marketing extremely seriously. We celebrate all superheroes with many different models of various ethnicities and apologize if the photo in question was offensive in any way.”

@Forever21 really got the palest person they could find to model a Wakanda Forever sweater. I’m crying. https://t.co/0ycedJ2eI6
