Neuw Denim releases sustainable capsule with jewellery designer, Holly Ryan

Words by Ruby Staley

A new collection we can wholeheartedly get around.

Neuw Denim is making it easy to look cool and love the environment at the same time.

In a perfect pairing, Neuw teams up with artist and jewellery designer, Holly Ryan, who has a commitment to creating responsible and meaningful objects.

The collection features graphic buttons with Holly’s iconic ‘Picasso face’ design that are each crafted using recycled metals.

Each button is hand sewn by the Neuw team in Melbourne, giving every piece a hand-finished touch.

From jeans to jackets and button-up denim dresses, each garment from the collection is made from recycled materials using zero waste processes.

The garments are all also entirely hand-stitched, hand brushed and hand ground, meaning it can achieve a distressed aesthetic without all the harmful chemicals.

This collaboration is also part of the ZERO initiative, which is the brand’s effort to reduce the environmental impact generated by denim manufacturing.

ZERO is working towards a complete overhaul of traditional denim washing methods that are harmful to the environment. Using a unique system, the water that Neuw uses is entirely renewed, reused and recycled with zero waste.

The collection will be available online and in David Jones this September.
