What we all need.

According to Rank & Style, Google searches for the term ‘sustainable fashion brands’ increased by 25 per cent between 2017-18. Public Figure is the newest curated fashion platform vying for the attention of this bracket of sustainable shoppers, as well as catering to the growing gap in the market.

Founded by Sydneysider Bella Zito, Public Figure only stocks labels who prioritise transparency in their production and processes, without compromising on the quality of the pieces.

“Public Figure offers fashion-forward Australian consumers an online space to explore the luxury fashion labels that are operating in transparent, honest and values-driven ways,” says Bella in a statement. “It’s the first of its kind in this country.”

After banning single-use plastic items on the set of their first campaign shoot in Byron Bay, Public Figure is working to maintain eco-friendly practices by partnering with socially-responsible manufacturer Oritex.

You can shop a range of labels including AutarkVelvet CanyonMaison EssentieleYoung FrankkPeony Swim and Van Der Kooi. In addition to international brands, Public Figure provides an in-house label including an exclusive range of beach towels. The towels, created in collaboration with artist Anisah Nasir, feature each of the astrological signs.
