DRY-EX.
Japanese mega-company UNIQLO joins the list of brands incorporating recycled plastics into its apparel with the announcement of its new DRY EX material. DRY EX is composed of fibres made from recycled PET bottles and retains the original fabric’s moisture-wicking technology.
The new fabric will be used in the company’s professional tenniswear. It will be worn by the brand’s global brand ambassadors Roger Federer, Key Nishikori, Shingo Kunieda and Gordon Reid throughout the Australian Open.
The famous tennis tournament continues to run amid a climate crisis, and its athletes play in a haze of smoke. However, the use of sustainable fabric in the uniforms of some of the biggest players is welcome news.
